Pancake Tuesday

Our volunteers outdid themselves with a beautiful setting for Pancake Tuesday.  After the evening’s delicious pancake supper, our youth group and some adult members of the parish participated in a short Liturgy for the burning of the palm branches and crosses to be used in the Ash Wednesday services at noon and 7 pm.  Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and to all who participated.

Joanna Burt & Alex Kim Wedding

January 17, 2018

This lovely wedding was attended by many members of the congregation.

Before the service, a Smudging Ceremony was held outside. Joanna, who is of an Indigenous background , passed the bowl with the burning sweet grass to people in a circle who then drew the smoke towards them with their hands- head, mouth, ears, heart and body.

The wedding included guitar and fiddle music, and a special treat of Joanna singing some songs with her mother Brenda!

Following the service, everyone was invited back to the hall for cake.

2017 St Paul’s Christmas Dinner

St. Paul’s annual Christmas Dinner was again another success in a long line of successful Christmas Dinners.  Success in these dinners in marked by the number of guests and volunteers we serve and this year, as in several past years, have seen us serving out the door some 200 meals.  Last year we were approached by Community Care to assist their Meals on Wheels program by providing 15 hot Christmas Dinners to their clients.  Because of the success of this addition to our program we were again approached and this year sent out 28 meals.  This is a great addition to our outreach of this Dinner event.

Such success does not come without the generous support of; the members of this parish who donate of their time, talent and treasure;  our own Happy Cooks group who are instrumental in preparing the food;  Edna Smith our intrepid Chef who oversees all the food preparation; and the  45 plus volunteers who come from all over the community to help with the food service and provide helpful care and support to those who need it.

To all those who were involved,

Thank You.
