Dr. Sylvia Keesmaat

Local Lecturer Dr. Sylvia Keesmaat will be leading our ‘Lenten Lecture Series’ on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. beginning February 20th to March 20th at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Lindsay .

“Jesus, The Kingdom and the Cross” – As we walk together towards the events of Holy Week, we will explore how Jesus’ sayings and actions point towards the character of the kingdom, culminating in his death and resurrection. The implications of this walk for our own discipleship will also be explored.

Dr. Keesmaat lives in Cameron and teaches part-time at the Toronto School of Theology. She is the author (with her husband, Brian) of Colossians Remixed: Subverting the Empire, and is a frequent preacher and bible study leader.

Sylvia taught a short course on reading the biblical story last fall at St. Paul’s.

See our current events page for more information about the Lenten Lecture series this year.
