As many of you know, there are some changes afoot in our youth and children’s ministries at St. Paul’s. Some of you will recognize me from the early morning service at our church, while others may know me more from my work in the community with the students of Heritage Christian School. With over two decades of experience in teaching young children, nineteen of which have been spent at the Heritage School, God has instilled in me a passion for capturing the hearts of our young people for Him, that they might truly understand who they are both in Him and to Him and fervently desire to follow in His ways. How I long for a day when every young person who passes through our doors will see in us the image of Jesus and be filled with an insatiable desire to commit his/her heart to Him!

For those who do not recognize me, my name is Kathy Le Gresley and I am the new co-ordinator of our Youth and Children’s Ministries at St. Paul’s . Like each of you, I wear many hats: daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, writer, advisor, chairperson – even secretary – and now, co-ordinator. I have to admit that it sounds pretty scary to me, yet I know that by the grace of God, He will equip me to do the work to which He has called me. Please pray for me as I work toward the implementation of the various programs we plan to pioneer over the course of the year, that I would be given the wisdom, courage, stamina and creativity to do the job well. Please also pray for willing volunteers to join the faithful corps of volunteers already serving in our youth and children’s ministries and pray that they might be given strength and joy in serving our Lord by serving the needs of our young people. Most of all, please pray for our young people, themselves, that they would be drawn to know and follow Jesus and that their hearts might be attuned to hear His voice and respond to His call.

I would like to thank everyone who helped make my transition into this position an easy one. Your encouragement, prayers, patience and willingness to give of your own time and expertise has done much to strengthen my heart for the task. As we, like Paul and Apollos before us, faithfully plant and water the seeds of faith in the hearts of our young people, may God grant that they will germinate and grow for His honour and glory alone. Please, also see about our S.W.A.T. for teens.
