It is that “waiting‟ time of year – Advent. Because of the Historical Society‟s Candlelight house tour our church was asked to be one of their featured stops. As a result, you will find some of the decorating being done early. Please enjoy.

Marg Brohm, Jo Aldrich and I  visited one of our supply shops this fall, looking for cruets and other things we may need in the future. We found small banners that fit over the Advent Candles to signify the significance of each candle (Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace). The Advent wreath in our church was crafted by the late Frank Baxter and is a little different than those purchased from suppliers. Therefore, we would need to find someone to craft these small banners to suit our wreath. They are 4 inches by 18 inches and hook over the candle holder. We know of a supplier of material and lettering that could be purchased. If you think this is a project that you would like to tackle please let me know so we can use these next year.

Don’t forget to get your request for Christmas Flowers and Memorials in early to the Office, or phone Helen Roberts 705-324-1873 as we all get busy and “forgetful‟ with the activities of the season.
